HITEX Shows Catalysts in Building India’s Future
On the eve of Independence Day, we take pleasure to share that the forthcoming industrial shows of Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd (HITEX)—HIMTEX, IPEC, and Eco Sustain—are all set to play a crucial role in India’s manufacturing ecosystem. The exhibitions are aligned with the Government’s Vision to make the country more advanced, engaged in innovation, sustainable for attaining developed country status by 2047.
Under the perfect backdrop of fostering national identity and unity, ‘Viksit Bharat’ is not just about inclusive economic development but also about making its mark on the global stage as a developed and respected nation. Government initiatives like ‘Make in India 2.0,’ ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, ‘Start-up India,’ ‘PM Gati Shakti,’ and ‘Bharatmala Project,’ accompanied by higher transparency, are spurring the machine tool and manufacturing industry.
Sectors Propelling India Forward
The sunrise industry sectors such as Electronics Manufacturing, Electric Vehicles (EVs), Semiconductors, Renewable Energy, and Defence are fast growing in India.
A report released by McKinsey & Company suggests the Indian EV market might touch an incredible US$ 300 billion within 2030. In addition to mobile phone production, component manufacture & product development are the main drivers of electronics manufacturing growth. Government statistics indicate that in the recent decade production of electronics in the country has risen more than four times, from US$ 29.8 to US$ 102 billion (FY 2024), highlighting the sector’s promising outlook.
Similarly, the traditional industry sectors like agriculture and manufacturing are transforming to what we see today. These sectors vividly depict the concept and adoption of megatrends and underscore that India’s economy is shifting towards sustainable, high-value, and technology sectors.
India is also actively implementing its plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2070 and decrease the country’s economic carbon intensity by 45 percent by 2030, and within this framework, the country pays a special focus on the use of renewable energy, primarily solar & wind energy. India has set a goal for 30 GW offshore wind power by 2030 with identified potential zones and has approved 50 solar park projects aggregating to 37.49 GW.
Playing a Role in Nation-Building
There is a need for India to focus on skilling & education, innovation & R&D, ease of doing business, infrastructure development, and sustainability to fully realize the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision.
